Before I wrote The Joy of Less, I published a book called Frugillionaire: 500 Fabulous Ways to Live Richly and Save a Fortune. In a nutshell, it’s 500 bite-sized tips that put the fun back into frugality. By focusing on appreciation rather than deprivation, it encourages you to savor life while saving money.
So why am I talking about it today? Because I’ve decided to drop the Kindle price on Frugillionaire to $0.99 for a limited time. I’m so grateful for your support of The Joy of Less, I wanted to give anyone interested in my first book the chance to buy it for less than a buck.
Follow just one of the five hundred tips, and you’ll quickly recoup your investment.
No Kindle? No problem. Simply download one of the free Kindle apps from Amazon’s website, and you can read it on your PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Blackberry, Android, or Windows phone.
If you’d like to learn more, here’s the Amazon description:
What if being frugal made you feel like a million bucks?
You’d live a rich and happy life–while saving more money than you ever imagined!
If you’re frustrated with your finances, drowning in debt, or just wondering where your money goes each month, don’t despair. For in these pages lies the secret to financial peace and harmony: how to become a frugillionaire.
Unlike millionaires and billionaires, frugillionaires aren’t defined by the number of zeroes in their net worth, or the haute couture in their closets.
Quite the contrary: frugillionaires master the art of frugality–living richly while saving a fortune. They make the most of the money they have, and treasure those things that money can’t buy.
Best of all, becoming a frugillionaire is easy! Just download this book, and you’ll find 500 fabulous savings techniques at your fingertips. Mix and match them into your personal formula for financial success!
I don’t know if my frugality evolved from my minimalism or vice versa, but each has been strengthened by the other. In fact, becoming a minimalist was the best thing I ever did for my bottom line.
Anyway, thank you again for being the best group of readers a blogger could wish for. I hope some of you will take this chance to pick up Frugillionaire, if only to squirrel it away for future reference. It also makes a great frugal gift (instructions for gifting Kindle books are here).
I hope you’ll find, as I have, that saving space and saving money go hand in hand!
{Note: I wanted to make it free, but Amazon requires a minimum list price of $0.99 for us indie authors. I figured it was close enough!
And for those who are wondering, I don’t plan to drop the price of The Joy of Less. I simply want Frugillionaire to be a nice little bonus for my readers.}

hello,
On Amazon (if I follow the link) the book is still priced 3,44$. Is that correct ?
Hi Kate — No, that’s not right! (And what a strange price — it used to be $7.99). If you’re in the US, it should be $0.99. That’s what I see when I click on the link.
Can anyone else chime in on what price they see?
Kate, by any chance, are you in a different country? Unfortunately, I have no control over the price (or currency conversion) on non-US Amazon sites. However, I’m happy to see that Amazon UK has it for £0.69.
I’m seeing $.99 on the link!
Cool — thanks, Rosa!
I’m in Belgium and I still see $3,44 as the list price.
The former price was $11,99.
I got a printscreen but can’t copy it in here so you will have to believe me.
I’ve also checked the amazon.co.uk site and there it says that pricing information is not available. Apparently, kindle titles there are only available for UK customers.
Weird. I always thought that -especially for ebooks- all prices would be the same.
Hi Kate — I believe you.
And I agree, ebook prices should all be the same.
I did some research, and apparently Amazon charges a $2 international wireless delivery charge in some countries, plus VAT.
Here’s a website discussing how free Kindle books are actually $2.30 in Belgium because of these fees:

I guess that clears up the mystery…
Yay! Thank you so much for your generosity! I had been looking at it, but had decided to just add it to my wish list instead. I squealed when I read this post
Can’t wait to check it out.
Haha. I’m right behind you, Sara. One buck well spent! Thanks, Francine!
I picked up a copy for 69p (UK), look forward to browsing through it
Oh thank you – what a nice surprise. Just downloaded for 99 cents!
Any chance you’ll also lower the price for the Nook?
Hi Jamie — unfortunately, it’s not available on the Nook.
I just finished The Joy of Less, which I loved, and am so excited to read this next. Thank you for sharing!!!
Thanks so much Francine. I just got it!
Hi, I follow your blog regularly and I just thought about you when I was watching this clip of the best stand-up comediant of our times: George Carlin

I have really enjoyed The Joy of Less on my kindle and thank you for your generosity.
Nice
Is this inspired by what Colin Wright did with his networking e-book? I love how the internet-people inspire each other.
I’m so excited! I just downloaded it for $0.99!
Thank you all for your support and enthusiasm!
Thank you Francine!
Here is Australia it has successfully come up as 99c. I bought it last night, downloaded the Kindle for PC software you suggested and read half of it in one sitting! Great tips in there.
Yipee! I already had this on my Amazon wishlist. Thank you.
Yay I just bought it and it’s been great so far. I love your creative tips. Thank you!
I would buy if it was on Nook.
Thank you, Francine!
$.99 fits just perfectly into the last bit of the gift card I’m using up for kindle books.
Thank you so much Ms. Francine! Will certainly enjoy reading it, as soon as I finish my (paper) copy of The Joy of Less–which I am enjoying immensly!! Good work, and love your blog too.
Have a lovely weekend.
Yay, Francine, way to go! Hope you are well, dear friend.
I recently bought The Joy of Less on Kindle, and it’s fantastic. It’s really helped me to have a different view on all my stuff, and helped me to let go of a lot of stuff that I didn’t really need. I’m still early in my minimalising/downsizing efforts, but I just wanted to let you know that I’ve found your book useful, and I look forward to reading Frugillionaire.
A big thanks to everyone for your kind words and support!
Francine thank you sooooooooooo much for your advice and wisdom. I am so much happier today that I have decided to become a minimalist. I now found that I am saving money and also actually using my material objects rather than just buyying them and storing them in my closet. You’re chapter on recycling really opened my eyes as well. Thanks again!
I just bought the kindle edition for $.99. I didn’t know you could just download the kindle application to the PC. WOW! I’m reading the book this evening. Thanks loads for this website.
